Our QuiltCon Charity Quilt inspiration is a birch tree.
The theme of the challenge is “small piecing.” Here you see the color palette on the show board. The kits contain 10 WOF (width of fabric) of either white or cream and then a 5″ x 10″ piece of each of the fabric palette except for blue which is the background. Cut up your fabric in 1 1/2″ strips and sew them together using the inspiration photo as your model. Make your block 6 to 10″ wide and as long as you can with the fabric provided. Do not square up your block, we will be cutting these blocks up to make the trunks and limbs of the birch tree. Please bring them back no later than the August meeting.
Handmade items for the raffle. Sew cute!
Next month’s Block Lotto is EPP – English Paper Piecing!

Announcements:
Artful August Challenge has been pushed back a month, giving you an extra month to get your art quilt together! The challenge is to create a quilt inspired by art or architecture. Your inspiration can be a painting, drawing, building, sculpture, and anything artsy. Quilts must be finished and bound.
We have a guest speaker in August Erin Dollar from Cotton & Flax and so September is when the challenge will happen.
