The arrival of fall means it's almost time for the first-ever Ventura Shop Hop! With six fabulous shops in a compact geographic footprint, the Ventura Shop Hop will fill your cup of inspiration while not requiring much to fill your gas tank. We have been brewing up so many surprises for this event, and we think you and your quilty BFFs are going to have an amazing time exploring all that our Ventura County shops have to offer. Hey! Some of us use thrifted fabrics…. But the point stands LMAO Sneak peek at an October raffle item… storage cubby with drawers for days!!! Yes we are primarily a quilting group but in addition to making quilts for Veterans and local shelters, we also have a side line in promoting great books for kids. And yes, Martha Well’s Murderbot tops the list for a book that appeals to many ages. Would recommend…. Start with “All Systems Red.” 😂 Meeting the nicest crafters at the @ocfibarts meetup! Do we think the optical illusion would still work if we rendered this in fabric? Sunday cheer 2027 Planning session next Monday - be there and help steer the guild! Your feedback is needed for meeting content, challenges, workshops ans classes, QuiltCon 2028 community quilt, philanthropy, field trips and more!!!! If you can’t make the meeting, send us your thoughts by email this week. Budget to be voted on in October. Philanthropy sew day was a blast. I think we had two quilt tops get assembled, at least four pillowcases, fabric was used up from our philanthropy stash and some went to the Laguna Woods quilting group, and we had great snacks and company. Can’t beat it! It was like 100 degrees outside but the AC was very much appreciated. Join us next time… same bat time and same bat channel. We have Jason that Hawaiian fabric on the 24th and he’s already made this crisp clean quilt top for the Veterans! 😍🥰😍 How does he do it! Jonathan went shopping in the philanthropy stash and picked out this pleasing array of colors. I can’t wait to see what he makes!!! When you are running out the door, grab any blue fabric you can easily reach, and decide hey these blend beautifully. quilted pillowcase 95% complete The first finished project of the philanthropy sew. 🧵 Got some donations already for the November Orangewood toiletry and supply drive. Most cash since they can stretch that money further but we will never say no to items.
