The OCMQG is committed to giving back to those in our community. Below are our current efforts lead by members.

Orangewood Foundation

The Orangewood Foundation programs help foster youth improve or strengthen their physical, emotional and “relational” health which are often necessary first steps on the road to self-sufficiency.

This philanthropy project is open ended and we accept donations at any time.

How members can contribute:
Create bright, modern Twin sized quilts for young adults.
Participate in our November Book Challenge.
Donate hygiene products.


Lap Quilts for Vets

The Long Beach VA Hospital support the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

This philanthropy project is open ended and we accept donations at any time.

How members can contribute:
Create lap sized quilts suitable for veterans in wheelchairs to use.


Isolette Covers for Kaiser (Orange) NICU

The Orange Kaiser Permanente NICU needs quilts to cover isolettes, creating a sense of “nighttime” for the babies but allowing the nursing staff to keep the lights on while providing care. The quilts go home with the baby upon discharge (if the family desires).

This philanthropy project is open ended and we accept donations at any time.

Specifications:
Minimum 32in x 32in, maximum 36in x 36in FINISHED (including washed/dried).

Please bring completed quilts to Elizabeth at meetings. She will wash, dry, and put in individual bags per hospital requirements).
