- The monthly raffle is back!! We need raffle items for our 2024 meetings. Please sign up if you can donate raffle items. We need to build up our funds. Funds go to the Guild for programs, workshops, meeting facility costs, etc.
- Win the 2023 QuiltCon quilt! Silent Auction at meeting tonight! Winner was Susie, who graciously donated the quilt to the Orangewood Children’s Foundation.
- Membership dues are due! $65
- Many new and exciting things are being planned for 2024. For example in our January meeting members will bring their oldest and most recent sewing projects. We will also be doing a scrap exchange. Bonus – Cloud 9 donated fabric that will be up for grabs! In February we will have Seeing Double with Tammy Silvers. In addition, we will be having a Walking Foot Workshop. Please email the ocmodernquiltguild@gmail.com if you would like to suggest any workshop ideas.
- November Book Challenge quilts were shown and voted on. See pictures of quilts. All the quilts showed wonderful creativity by its makers. First Place went to Mary, Second Place went to Jonathan, and Third Place was a tie between Susie and Barbara. All quilts and books will be donated to the Orangewood Children’s Foundation for emancipating or emancipated youth from the Orange County foster care system.
- Betty Alstadt did a demo on how to make award ribbons. It was very informative. Thank you Betty!
- A Guild member had some unique fabric and requested help in selecting a quilt pattern that would highlight the fabric. Many suggestions and ideas were offered.
- Kelly Hogan conducted a discussion on Maximalism in quilting – What is it and why is it trendy? It was an invaluable discussion.
- Upcycling and Scrappy Quilts Videos links were provided to membership.

- SAVE the Date for our members only Holiday Party on December 9th from 1 to 4pm. It will be a potluck. Bring 3 fat quarters to play “left, right, center” game.
